This, I have to say was a good week. Am I pre-empting the worst?

So had an observation this week in Maths from my mentor and it was all ok. I try not to get too nervous as I've had so many observations throughout my training, although it did take a couple of days to prepare. So half way through with only three to go now, then hopefully I'll be a "proper" teacher. I'll have to buy my mentor a few gifts. Having said that, we have formed a good working relationship and I know it's ok to make mistakes. I mean, I always tell the children that and we are only human.

So with only one week to go until half term (like I said, I'm not counting) I have started thinking about next term and I fear it's going to be a busy one. I have a dance to prepare for my class as we have a performance in April. I think a Spice Girls song is the way forward! I'm sure that will go down well with the parents! Again as long as the children have fun. (I wonder if they'll let me take part?)

Also, next week is my class assembly, which is kind of like my first one (not including the Christingle service), so I am hoping my class learn their parts and I suppose what will be will be.

I've taken a lot more time for myself this week and I'm really trying to have a work free weekend, although something always crops up. I once said that I hate having a list of things to do and I was told teaching is the wrong job for me. However, look at me now!

With that said and conversations with my mum, I'm looking at planning a long holiday at the end of this first year of teaching. If I start planning now, then I definitely have something to look forward to. I wouldn't mind having someone to go on this adventure with but I suppose that isn't always possible.

We don't know what's around the corner and at the moment I'm only peeking.

So what happened to this term? Only three weeks to go. It's all becoming slightly serial and that my first year of teaching has almost...
